"Experiencing safety is the treatment...." Dr. Stephen PorgesCST uses light touch to help your body work its best from the inside out. CST will reset your central nervous system and help your body to feel safe and relax. This holistic approach to health and wellness can help free restrictions in your body and aid in pain relief. It also works with the body’s inherent capacity for healing. You will leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and renewed.

This varies from person to person. Some people will benefit from CST every other week, some once a month and for some, two to four times a year may be enough. Whatever you decide, it is best to get into a routine. Each time you have a session, you will start to become more aware of your body and how CST benefits you.

If you have a history of blood clots, an aneurysm or have had a stroke, please get permission from your doctor before having CST. If you have had a recent surgery or are pregnant, please discuss with your practitioner before scheduling. Otherwise CST is safe for everyone, of any age. Redstone Renewal will be focusing on teens and adults. If you would like information on a practitioner that works with infants and children, please ask.

CST is done with the client fully clothed. (Please feel free to wear comfy clothes. Some people like to wear socks, no matter the time of year.) You will lay on your back on a warm massage table. Pillows and blankets are available, if desired. The practitioner will apply light touch, moving to different areas of your body to support your body’s natural rhythms and release held tension. Primary areas are the head, neck, shoulders, diaphragm, back, arms and legs. Many people feel a deep sense of calm, gentle sensations or subtle shifts as the body unwinds. You may also feel lightness, pulsing and warmth/heat. The office is a quiet and relaxing environment. Your comfort is important during each session.

Following your session, you may feel deeply relaxed, calm, or even a bit tired—this is your body’s natural response as it resets and rebalances. Some people notice gradual shifts in tension, pain levels, energy levels or emotions in the hours or days afterward. These changes are part of the healing process as your nervous system integrates the therapy. Be gentle with yourself, stay hydrated, and allow your body the space it needs to process the body’s natural rhythms and release held tension.
